I met an antelope
In the woods
Walking a fence line
So wanting to be on the other side
I pause, watching…
Big open land just opposite
‘Why don’t you run free– that way?’
To choose differently
To choose to
The very Love you are
How many times must we repeat our self to finally grasp that nothing other than our own heart will ever satiate the eternal looking for…?
How much courage does it take to recognize the illusion that the ‘outside’ is only fluff at best?
How much extraordinary trust in one’s self does it take to chose the path less traveled and live from the inside, out?
I chose my ‘how’ a long time ago and I will not waver. Love is my mission– nothing more and nothing less. ‘This’ is what I am here to do no matter what the situation may be. And in my opinion, ‘this’ is what we are all here to do.
We are all gifted messages everywhere, constantly. The question is, are you paying attention? Are you listening with the love of your heart, or is the noise of your mind obscuring the perfection?
if we talk about love and suffering in the same sentence, are we just negating them out? Can we talk about love without the pain? Do we still feel like we belong in the human race if we choose love over pain? Are love and joy just as much as a credential as pain and suffering?
Am I capable of fully feeling this? (‘this’ being whatever is within me right now… no matter how blissful or how horrific it appears)
Can I feel this in complete love… gifting myself the space without judgment to allow this to process through me?
Every human is in relationship with the Plants and Trees in every moment whether one chooses to be conscious of this or not.
Magnolia shared with me how she keeps watch over my parents, continuously helping to support their well-being.
I wonder… do my parents realize that Magnolia does this for them? Are they able to consciously acknowledge that a tree can (and is) always looking out for them, and working in ways so complex and so intertwined that humans can never fathom?
For years, I practiced taking regular days of silence. I would choose not to speak for a day or several at a time. My outward communication consisted of only the most necessary of written words. I carried a little card around with me that read “observing a day of silence today”.
We humans are so good at making everything complicated.
The plants and the trees are so good at making everything simple.
Turn off your phone, your computer, your TV. Take off your watch. Put down your book. Turn your todo list face down. Leave the laundry for later and….
Do you talk to the plants and the trees?
Can you find it within your heart to really grasp that the plants and the trees are your most beloved friends?
Are you looking at these words right now with a quizzical sideways glance?
7.6 billion humans are on Gaia. Even at this astounding number, we still only make up .01% of all life on earth. Any guesses of who makes up 82%? Plants!!!!
Ponderings within myself that have been stirred by this stark comparison…
How much of my human superiority complex remains and where does it hide?
Do I truly act in every moment with the love and compassion for all life?
Do all of my actions reflect what I say, write, and teach?
My sister was kind enough to put the concept of forced friction into my speak, “Did you know that if you brush the tops of leggy seedlings with your fingers several times a day that the seedlings will develop thicker, stronger stems?”
My parents always taught my brother and I to be gracious for every gift we are given, and to always write thank you notes. This written thank you is long overdue…From the very moment I arrived on Gaia, you offered me breath
‘How do you know if you are in your heart?’ Do you think you know, or do you have a depth of knowing that resonates through your whole being? Are you looking, or are you feeling? Are you lost in a chaotic frenzy of thoughts, or is there a centered grounded peace despite the outer chaos?
I have written this piece with Lavender Stoechas anointing my heart (of course, right?). She has been talking to me nonstop these last few days. I asked her if she would be willing to share her thoughts and wisdom here.
I went to visit one of my best friends and greatest confidants this morning. I heard my heart calling to her and her calling to me. No iPhones needed. I slipped out...
It is so important to take time to reconnect to love, offer humble gratitude, and set intention. Ceremony is such a powerful place to reconnect with Gaia, ourselves, and the unseen blessed beings/energies that surround each and every one of us- all of the time.
The Hawaiians traditionally greeted each other by touching noses and foreheads together and sharing the inhale of breath. This is the connection of the breath/source of life (ha), and...
