...You are enough. You are enough the create betterment in the world simply by bettering yourself with love, kindness, and positive thought. Even if you don’t leave the house, your loving energy is felt infinitely and can heal and ‘do good’ beyond any measure that any of us can fathom.
We always have choices. We always, always have choices in what we choose to believe and how we choose to BE. We are in massive flux of change We are on the see-saw right now…right on the brink of a collective shift into higher love and higher consciousness. Every time you do fear, you jump onto that side. Every time you do love, it helps tip everything to love.
I spent most of my 30s in a self-imposed, rigid mediation practice. Why? I so desired to KNOW peace within myself and to consciously remember and embody oneness with all. I was committed, diligent, and…inflexible in my practice. A meditation practice whose intention was freedom, but who’s structure was anything but…Yes, I’m laughing right now and I hope you are too.
May I encourage you educate yourself on what is really going on outside of what the main stream media desires us to believe? Remember: low frequency emotions and thoughts are some of the most damaging agents to our immune system and health (physical, emotional and spiritual).
I made a visit to the Desert Botanical Garden over the weekend (which inspired this post). I saw a sign explaining ‘photosynthesis’. We are all aware that plants and trees feed themselves via the process of photosynthesis. Perhaps it is easy to forget how awe inspiring this is.
I will keep my rant about putting so much emphasis on days other humans have told us ‘we should celebrate’ to a bare minimum and instead turn it to positive inquiry: EVERY day is important. Every day we should seek to embody more love, awareness, kindness, and gratitude. We are programmed...
When I was 25, I cut my hair off with a pair of artist’s scissors, pierced my eyebrow, and painted ‘? Reality’ with white paint across my favorite t-shirt. I had recently graduated from art & design school and for some reason that explosion ‘of needing to express myself in a new way’ came afterwards instead of during.
Can you imagine a place where there is NO judgement, no hate, no prejudice, no cheating, no harming, no sacrifice…that everyone genuinely cares about the well being of all (including Gaia and all non-human beings)?
Do you have the curiosity and the courage to lovingly inquire directly into the raw emotion before the ‘Auto Pilot Shit Show’ starts unfolding? Raw emotions (minus the story) are one of the potent portals through which we can manifest expansive change within ourselves. It is not the action you must change, it is what precedes the action that must change.
I was sitting at a stoplight Thursday afternoon and a woman in her 30s came dancing (literally) across the crosswalk singing and laughing to herself…seemingly oblivious to anything but her joy. ‘My Brain’ says, “OMG, is that woman sane?...
Gaia is conscious and she is upping her frequency. Are we as individuals willing to change with her, or are we white-knuckling old ways because we are afraid and/or don’t remember how to do anything different? To think we can just go out and ‘wing it’ with no consciousness around our direction will definitely get us lost. Do you know what direction you are moving? Do you know your grand vision, your true north?
May I offer you pondering for today? A common perspective is to approach things as a process of: learn, practice, and do. While it works, it is limiting because it is based on the idea that what we need is found outside of us, not within.... What if we shifted...
We can only give/share what we have. If we desire the world to be conscious, peaceful, and loving then it is our responsibility to create that world within our-self, FIRST. If I am not making conscious choices, that is immediately reflected back to me. If I am not peaceful in my heart, all I see is chaos around me. If I do not fully love myself, I can never fully love another...
I had this little wooden bench I sat perched on for large periods of years, with my hands folded just right, watching my breath. Determined that if I could sit long enough…to get quiet enough… I would attain enlightenment...
How many times must we repeat our self to finally grasp that nothing other than our own heart will ever satiate the eternal looking for…? How much courage does it take to recognize the illusion that the ‘outside’ is only fluff at best? How much extraordinary trust in one’s self does it take to chose the path less traveled and live from the inside, out?
I chose my ‘how’ a long time ago and I will not waver. Love is my mission– nothing more and nothing less. ‘This’ is what I am here to do no matter what the situation may be. And in my opinion, ‘this’ is what we are all here to do.
if we talk about love and suffering in the same sentence, are we just negating them out? Can we talk about love without the pain? Do we still feel like we belong in the human race if we choose love over pain? Are love and joy just as much as a credential as pain and suffering?
Am I capable of fully feeling this? (‘this’ being whatever is within me right now… no matter how blissful or how horrific it appears) Can I feel this in complete love… gifting myself the space without judgment to allow this to process through me?
Every human is in relationship with the Plants and Trees in every moment whether one chooses to be conscious of this or not. Magnolia shared with me how she keeps watch over my parents, continuously helping to support their well-being. I wonder… do my parents realize that Magnolia does this for them? Are they able to consciously acknowledge that a tree can (and is) always looking out for them, and working in ways so complex and so intertwined that humans can never fathom?
For years, I practiced taking regular days of silence. I would choose not to speak for a day or several at a time. My outward communication consisted of only the most necessary of written words. I carried a little card around with me that read “observing a day of silence today”.
We humans are so good at making everything complicated. The plants and the trees are so good at making everything simple. Turn off your phone, your computer, your TV. Take off your watch. Put down your book. Turn your todo list face down. Leave the laundry for later and….
Do you talk to the plants and the trees? Can you find it within your heart to really grasp that the plants and the trees are your most beloved friends? Are you looking at these words right now with a quizzical sideways glance?
7.6 billion humans are on Gaia. Even at this astounding number, we still only make up .01% of all life on earth. Any guesses of who makes up 82%? Plants!!!! Ponderings within myself that have been stirred by this stark comparison… How much of my human superiority complex remains and where does it hide? Do I truly act in every moment with the love and compassion for all life? Do all of my actions reflect what I say, write, and teach?
My sister was kind enough to put the concept of forced friction into my speak, “Did you know that if you brush the tops of leggy seedlings with your fingers several times a day that the seedlings will develop thicker, stronger stems?”
My parents always taught my brother and I to be gracious for every gift we are given, and to always write thank you notes. This written thank you is long overdue…From the very moment I arrived on Gaia, you offered me breath
‘How do you know if you are in your heart?’ Do you think you know, or do you have a depth of knowing that resonates through your whole being? Are you looking, or are you feeling? Are you lost in a chaotic frenzy of thoughts, or is there a centered grounded peace despite the outer chaos?
I have written this piece with Lavender Stoechas anointing my heart (of course, right?). She has been talking to me nonstop these last few days. I asked her if she would be willing to share her thoughts and wisdom here.
It is so important to take time to reconnect to love, offer humble gratitude, and set intention. Ceremony is such a powerful place to reconnect with Gaia, ourselves, and the unseen blessed beings/energies that surround each and every one of us- all of the time.
