May I offer you pondering for today?
A common perspective is to approach things as a process of: learn, practice, and do.
While it works, it is limiting because it is based on the idea that what we need is found outside of us, not within....
What if we shifted...
I met an antelope
In the woods
Him longingly
Walking a fence line
So wanting to be on the other side
I pause, watching…
Big open land just opposite
‘Why don’t you run free– that way?’
How many times must we repeat our self to finally grasp that nothing other than our own heart will ever satiate the eternal looking for…?
How much courage does it take to recognize the illusion that the ‘outside’ is only fluff at best?
How much extraordinary trust in one’s self does it take to chose the path less traveled and live from the inside, out?
Am I capable of fully feeling this? (‘this’ being whatever is within me right now… no matter how blissful or how horrific it appears)
Can I feel this in complete love… gifting myself the space without judgment to allow this to process through me?
Every human is in relationship with the Plants and Trees in every moment whether one chooses to be conscious of this or not.
Magnolia shared with me how she keeps watch over my parents, continuously helping to support their well-being.
I wonder… do my parents realize that Magnolia does this for them? Are they able to consciously acknowledge that a tree can (and is) always looking out for them, and working in ways so complex and so intertwined that humans can never fathom?
We humans are so good at making everything complicated.
The plants and the trees are so good at making everything simple.
Turn off your phone, your computer, your TV. Take off your watch. Put down your book. Turn your todo list face down. Leave the laundry for later and….
Do you talk to the plants and the trees?
Can you find it within your heart to really grasp that the plants and the trees are your most beloved friends?
Are you looking at these words right now with a quizzical sideways glance?
7.6 billion humans are on Gaia. Even at this astounding number, we still only make up .01% of all life on earth. Any guesses of who makes up 82%? Plants!!!!
Ponderings within myself that have been stirred by this stark comparison…
How much of my human superiority complex remains and where does it hide?
Do I truly act in every moment with the love and compassion for all life?
Do all of my actions reflect what I say, write, and teach?
My parents always taught my brother and I to be gracious for every gift we are given, and to always write thank you notes. This written thank you is long overdue…From the very moment I arrived on Gaia, you offered me breath
