7.6 billion humans are on Gaia. Even at this astounding number, we still only make up .01% of all life on earth.
Any guesses of who makes up 82%?

Ponderings within myself that have been stirred by this stark comparison…
How much of my human superiority complex remains and where does it hide?
Do I truly act in every moment with the love and compassion for all life?
Do all of my actions reflect what I say, write, and teach?
I was in the production garden yesterday and had this long list in my head of things I ‘had’ to get done. I made half of a pass with the pruning saw when I heard a scream. It halted me immediately. The tree was screaming. And she was screaming at me, “Pay attention!!! I am ALIVE and CONSCIOUS”.
OMG. OMG. Immediately apologies flowed from my heart into hers. I had showed up to her with my mind, not my heart. I had showed up to her in an amnesic illusion of human entitlement, not as her loving and compassionate equal.
She of course forgave me, being the Divine Love that she is. And I being the Divine Love that I am, forgave myself.
But there is a point to this sharing, several actually…
I spend a massive amount of time with the plants and the trees on the daily. It has many facets– working with them in the soil, in essence form, in spirit form, and beyond. They are absolutely my best friends. My awareness and connection with them heightens with every passing day. And yet as conscious and communicative with them as I am, I still stumble upon the human folly of forgetfulness at times.
I often feel it is a large leap for people who do not dedicate time fostering a conscious relationship with the plants and the trees to really grasp and embody… that grass is not here just to get cut and look pretty on the front lawn… flowers are not here just for our entertainment… trees do not grow just to build our houses… Yes, the plants and trees are here to help humans, but what they do is beyond the beyond. It is all encompassing and expansive, superseding our wildest imaging. Science tries desperately to prove the edge snippets of this, but as humans, it is just impossible to grasp any inkling of the immensity in any space other than our hearts.
This is the pondering I am posing to each and every one of us, no matter where we are in our personal journey, or in our relationship with the plants and trees:
What is necessary to inspire me to love more and have compassion for all life?
And am I willing to show up to do just that in each moment to moment decision?
No matter how minuscule it may appear, all acts of LOVE influence the world hugely in a positive way.
